Knowledge Structure Mapping (or Structural Knowledge Auditing) is a methodology that is supported by a specialised tool KST (Knowledge Study Tool). The method involves working with domain experts. In a business context, it is used to investigate the knowledge that people need in order to carry out their work. However, the method can be used for other forms of knowledge. The method works just as well on very large complex knowledge areas as it does on smaller, very focused knowledge areas. The difference is in the detail that will be investigated in each case.
